Each year, Covia sites participate in a company-wide Safety Day. Held annually in September, this program supports our aspirational goal of achieving zero harm and increases awareness and knowledge of safety practices among our employees.

Covia is the responsible steward of approximately 75,000 acres of land across our global footprint. Planning for responsible land use is embedded throughout the life cycle of our operations – from our careful approach to early development and operational planning.

At Covia, we understand the importance of maintaining high standards of corporate transparency, even as a privately held company.

On June 5, Covia’s Environmental Team hosted our annual virtual World Environment Day (WED) celebration, in alignment with the United Nations’ theme, #BeatPlasticPollution.

Covia’s focus on Safety First extends beyond our Team Members and sites. We take pride in involving our communities, contractors, and customers in discussions about safety, gauging what safety practices are most important our stakeholders.

Operating in a country that is considered a hub for sustainable innovation, our Team Members in Denmark are leveraging cutting edge technologies to reduce our carbon footprint. In fact, the facility in Fredericia is targeting a 70% absolute reduction in GHG emissions by 2030.

Recently Covia had the opportunity to show a glimpse into how we mine sand at our operations on Tomorrow’s World Today. Tomorrow's World Today (TWT) is an Emmy-nominated television show on Discovery and the Science Channel focused on finding ways to live more sustainably.
