OZ Minerals is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 Sustainability Report.

This report details OZ Minerals’ economic, social and environmental performance and approach to responsible corporate governance. It also details the performance of Oxiana Limited and Zinifex Limited since each last reported prior to merging to become OZ Minerals on 1 July 2008.

By any measure 2008 was an extraordinary year, characterised by an unprecedented decline in global economic conditions. Throughout this period of uncertainty and significant organisational change, OZ Minerals has worked to maintain focus on both the financial and non-financial aspects of sustainability. OZ Minerals understands that caring for its people, its neighbours and the environment is critical to the success of the business.

OZ Minerals views this report as an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to transparent and accountable reporting of its sustainability challenges and progress in managing them. The report has been prepared in accordance with the GRI G3 Reporting Guidelines and undergone external assurance against the AA1000AS (2008) assurance standard.

OZ Minerals is the world’s second largest producer of zinc as well as a substantial producer of copper, lead, gold and silver. OZ Minerals was formed through the merger of Australian based, international mining companies Oxiana Limited and Zinifex Limited. The company currently has mining operations located in Australia and Asia and a portfolio of Advanced and early stage exploration projects throughout Australia, Asia and North America.
