NASHVILLE, November 18, 2022 /CSRwire/ – As the construction of Nashville Rescue Mission’s new Women’s & Children’s Campus continues to take shape, PNC Bank has delivered a credit commitment to help fuel the development of this project.
To date, Nashville Rescue Mission has raised $19 million in pledges and cash donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and churches toward its $21 million capital campaign goal for the new Women’s & Children’s Campus. The credit commitment from PNC Bank will help provide financing for the project through the end of the five-year pledge collection period.
“PNC’s commitment to the communities we serve comes to life in several ways, including through our delivery of innovative ideas and creative financing solutions to help community organizations, such as Nashville Rescue Mission, grow and scale their facilities and operations,” said Mike Johnson, PNC regional president for Tennessee. “The financing announced today will create significant local impact through this incredible project for years to come.”
The new 72,000-square foot facility, located at 1716 Rosa L Parks Boulevard in north Nashville, is expected to be substantially completed in summer 2023. The campus will add 166 beds and 12 family rooms to the accommodations afforded by the previous building, while increasing the capacity of the kitchen, cafeteria, chapel, classrooms, offices, meeting spaces and restrooms. The facility also will feature such enhancements as increased security and parking, as well as an expanded outdoor play area for children of various ages.
“With the increasing numbers of women – especially those with young children – experiencing homelessness and seeking assistance at Nashville Rescue Mission, we determined that a more extensive and efficient facility was necessary to meet the needs of our community,” said Rev. Glenn Cranfield, president and CEO of Nashville Rescue Mission. “PNC’s financing will help make this new center a reality, contributing to a sustainable financial future for the Mission and helping us be good stewards of our resources and the generosity of our donors.”
Representatives from PNC and Nashville Rescue Mission were among the local stakeholders to sign the final steel beam for the new building during a Sept. 16, celebration. During the continued construction of the new Women’s & Children’s Campus, which commenced in September 2021 with the demolition of the former campus, the Mission’s current guests are staying at its Main Campus.
