Jul. 01 /CSRwire/ - The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) is pleased to announce that its 2019 HACR Symposium: The Power of Hispanic Inclusion™ was one of the most successful programs in the organization’s history. The gathering took place May 5-7, 2019, at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami.

The HACR Symposium brought together some of the nation’s most influential Hispanic corporate leaders, Fortune 500 executives, diversity and inclusion specialists, and stakeholders in the movement to advance Hispanic inclusion in Corporate America. The gathering included discussions, effective strategies, and models for achieving greater inclusion and participation of Hispanics in the areas of Employment, Procurement, Philanthropy, and Governance.

“The 2019 HACR Symposium was a great success as we illuminated to Corporate America the opportunities for advancing Hispanic inclusion through the many best practices shared by our speakers and industry experts,” said Cid Wilson, president & CEO of HACR. “We want to thank all of the committed leaders who attended, as well as our sponsors for supporting one of our largest Symposium’s in the organization’s history. We especially extend our thanks to PepsiCo and Target Corp. for serving as co-host sponsors for this year’s Symposium.”

“PepsiCo is a proud partner of HACR and supports its commitment to advocate for diversity and engagement,” said Vice President of Diversity and Engagement for PepsiCo, Merary Simeon. “By leveraging the power of Hispanic inclusion with the country’s top business leaders, HACR helps to amplify the voice of the Hispanic community. It is PepsiCo’s privilege to partner with HACR, Target, and others to lead the critical dialogue necessary for sustainable change.”

“At Target, diversity and inclusion is an all-in, full-contact, participatory endeavor. Everyone has perspective that is needed to fulfill their role as a team member, guest, community, and partner, based on what they are best positioned to impact,” said Target’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer & VP of Human Resources, Caroline Wanga. “To truly champion an inclusive society, each stakeholder has to put into practice behaviors that help all coexist equitably and stay open to how our collective dimensions of difference will interact. There’s only one you. And you, your stories, and your experiences are exactly what we need. We invite the HACR family to stay open with us.”

This year’s program which included An Executive Session with former U.S. Treasurer Rosie G. Rios, offered an inside glimpse into her personal and professional journey to the top and discussed the best career advice she ever received as well as her perspective on increasing the number of Latinos in power positions in Corporate America.

Other featured speakers included NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprise Chairman, Cesar Conde and PepsiCo Global Chief Diversity & Engagement Officer, Umran Beba.

The CEO Roundtable is the flagship forum that has been part HACR Symposium for 13 years. AARP CEO, Jo Ann Jenkins; Carnival Corporation President and CEO, Arnold W. Donald; and PwC US Chairman and Senior Partner, Timothy F. Ryan, were the featured panelists. CNBC News Anchor, Bertha Coombs, served as moderator of the HACR CEO Roundtable.
