Rozgarduniya.com, meaning 'the world of employment opportunities' in Hindi, is an internet job portal available at kiosks set up by ITC Limited in villages throughout India, and is a joint initiative between Monster.com and ITC Choupal

Monster.com, the leading global online recruitment resource has been acknowledged by the Business Call to Action (BCtA), a global initiative promoting inclusive business models, for its commitment to expand access to job opportunities for rural youth in India.

The pledge to the BCtA will promote access to Rozgarduniya.com, an Internet job portal, in 40,000 villages across nine states in India. Monster.com's commitment is expected to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development as well as contribute to the Millennium Development Goals, eight internationally agreed goals which seek to alleviate poverty.

Rozgarduniya.com, which means 'the world of employment opportunities' in Hindi, is a joint initiative between Monster.com and ITC Choupal, which are Internet-enabled kiosks set up by ITC Limited in villages throughout India. The platform enables job seekers to access and apply for jobs through ITC Choupals. The bilingual site provides a credible recruitment tool for companies looking to hire local talent. For qualified candidates, the portal provides access to job information from companies expanding their reach into rural areas.

IBLF is leading the engagement of Indian business in the Business Call to Action. Monster's success in being recognised as a Business Call to Action commitment follows that of another Indian commitment -- from LifeSpring Hospitals.

LifeSpring is a chain of small hospitals in India that provide lower income mothers with high-quality healthcare and delivery series at 30% of market rates. Lifespring's commitment is to provide an estimated 82,000 Indian women and their families with access to quality healthcare. In the next five years, LifeSpring will increase the number of hospitals serving mothers and children throughout India from 9 to 200, which will improve overall standards of care and reduce rates of maternal and childhood deaths.

Graham Baxter, Acting CEO of IBLF said: "Business has an important role in moving beyond philanthropy to contribute to development goals through core business operations. These two companies are examples of the high levels of innovation and opportunity that exist within business in India and I am delighted that Monster and LifeSpring Hospitals have had their commitments recognised through the Business Call to Action."

The Business Call to Action is a global initiative that seeks to challenge companies to develop inclusive business models that offer the potential for development impact along with commercial success. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the United Nations Development Programme, the UN Global Compact, the Government of the United Kingdom, the Government of Australia, the Clinton Global Initiative and the International Business Leaders Forum to meet the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. The BCtA tracks commitments companies make and lessons-learned on what works well for both businesses and poor communities that can be replicated globally.
