London - Ethical Corporation, the global CSR information service for responsible business leaders, today announced new additions to the September 25-27, 2002 conference on managing sustainability for European Retailers. The Tea Sourcing Partnership, which represents 68% of tea imports into the UK and Nestle, the world's largest food company will deliver case studies based around implementing a complex, global monitoring programme and sustainability in agricultural raw materials.

· The Tea Sourcing Partnership will discuss how they are successfully implementing a complex, global monitoring programme
· Chiquita Brands will discuss developing effective international labour standards and trade union relations
· Kingfisher how they are scaling up sustainability from B&Q to Kingfisher
· Dole Foods discuss the importance of managing sustainability
"Increasing customer expectations and extending supply chain networks present real challenges to profitable growth for retailers today," said Toby Webb, Editor of Ethical Corporation magazine." European retailers need to understand the changing demands with international standards and trade union relations along with the expectations of fund managers and developing and maintaining NGO partnerships."
An executive workshop on "Corporate Social Responsibility & Ethical Supply Chain Management" led by Warwick Business School's Corporate Citizenship Unit; Professor Alyson Warhurst will explain Key Performance Indicators along with factors that explain success & failure in ethical supply chain management.
The conference is organised in association with the British Retail Consortium. "Company and individual retail success depends on the ability to work collaboratively in partnerships and teams - sustainability is an issue that the retail sector can not longer ignore," said Jeremy Beadles from the British Retail Consortium.
