NEW YORK - Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services firms, will celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 17-23) by announcing that IMPACT Day, its national day of volunteer service, will take place on Friday, June 3. On IMPACT Day, all of Deloitte's nearly 30,000 people are encouraged to set aside their work for the day to volunteer in the community.

"We have a culture of service at Deloitte and that includes service to the community," said James H. Quigley, CEO of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. "IMPACT Day is an opportunity for each of our people to turn their attention from work for a day to focus on community issues. Contributing to our communities through volunteerism is part of our culture, and I'm very proud of the Deloitte team and our commitment to make a difference through community service."

Last year on IMPACT Day, Deloitte personnel volunteered with more than 320 non-profit organizations across the country. Examples of their work included the installation of wireless networks at two Ronald McDonald Houses in the Washington DC area, the collection/sorting of hundreds of pairs of shoes for low-income school children in Reno, NV, the delivery of workshops on job preparation and budgeting for homeless mothers in Cleveland, and the clean-up of a greenbelt in Seattle.

To prepare for IMPACT Day 2005, several hundred people are serving on planning teams across the country, organizing the specific volunteer events that will take place on June 3. In addition to the volunteer events being held across the United States, Deloitte professionals in several countries around the world will also spend IMPACT Day serving their communities.

Deloitte strongly encourages its people to volunteer their time and talent, recognizes them for doing so, and rewards them for encouraging others to get involved. Deloitte actively seeks new and strategic opportunities to advance the causes that are important to its people and to have a positive impact on its communities.
