Deloitte & Touche Hosts Diversifying the American Board Seminar In New York

Published 05-06-03

Submitted by Deloitte

NEW YORK, NY — Deloitte & Touche will host a breakfast seminar for corporate board members with diverse backgrounds in New York.

What:

Diversifying the American Board Seminar

Why:

The current environment has created many challenges for corporate boards, but it has also created an unprecedented opportunity for women and people of color to join the ranks of the corporate elite. Many of these potential board candidates have significant business and financial experience that they can bring to American boards, but many also have limited experience in the boardroom. These directors and potential directors may also have limited exposure to the traditional board networks that would help them to identify board opportunities. The Diversifying American Board breakfast seminar is designed to meet the unique needs of this valuable director pool.

Who:

Sharon Allen, the incoming chairman of Deloitte & Touche's board, will moderate a panel on “Things I Wish I Had Known Before Joining A Board.”

Martin J. Somelofske and Donna Stettler, senior members of the Deloitte & Touche Human Capital practice, will discuss "Trends in Executive and Director Compensation."

Where:

Four Seasons Hotel in New York City on May 20, 2003 from 7:30 am -- 9:30 am.

How:

To attend this event, sign up online at Deloitte Diversifying the American Board Program or call (617) 437-2559.
