Heathrow’s vision is to give passengers the best airport service in the world which the company feels is only possible if it grows and operates the airport sustainably, now and in the future.
In February 2017 Heathrow launched Heathrow 2.0, its new plan for sustainable growth. Heathrow 2.0 represents a step-change in the company’s approach and demonstrates leadership, both within the airport sector and beyond. It sets stretching, long-term goals that will guide the future of the business.
The achievements highlighted within Heathrow’s 2016 Sustainability Performance Report provide a strong foundation for a step-change in the company’s level of ambition in 2017 and beyond.
“I’m so proud of the work we’ve done in 2016 to continue to push our performance across such a wide range of key sustainability issues. For me the business case for a sustainable Heathrow is strong. It’s about helping people fulfil their potential and being a good neighbour and citizen. It’s about delivering opportunities for business that make the UK stronger and more sustainable. And it’s about ensuring that future generations can explore and enjoy our beautiful world.”
