NN Group, a financial services company active in several European countries and Japan, published its 2021 Annual Report. It provides an integrated overview of our strategy, and financial and non-financial performance.

NN is committed to creating long-term value for all our stakeholders. Our strategy aims to address the interests of all stakeholders, which is underpinned by both financial and non-financial targets. It is our ambition to be an industry leader, known for customer engagement, talented people and our contribution to society.

Performance highlights in 2021

• Operating result of EUR 2,036 million and net result of EUR 3,278 million
• Full-year operating capital generation of EUR 1,584 million
• Solvency II ratio at 213% and cash capital position of EUR 1,998 million
• Improved customer satisfaction with 5 of our businesses scoring an above market average Net Promoter Score. Brand consideration at 23%.
• Despite challenging circumstances our employee engagement remained stable at a high level with at 7.7
• 34% women in senior management positions
• ESG-integrated Assets under Management increased to 91%
• To underpin our ambition to transition our proprietary investment portfolio to net-zero GHG emissions in 2050, we have set interim targets for our corporate investment portfolio. We aim to decrease these emissions by 25% in 2025 and 45% in 2030.
• Our direct CO2 emissions decreased by 15% compared to 2020 and 67% of our electricity use came from renewable sources. We operated 100% carbon neutral by purchasing voluntary carbon credits
• We have pledged to contribute 1% of our (three-year average) operating result to our communities, including cash donations and hours of volunteering by 2023. The total contribution in 2021 was EUR 8 million, or 0.4% of operating result
• 21,525 young people reached in 2021 through NN Future Matters, our global community investment programme

NN Group also published a Solvency and Financial Condition Report and a Total Tax Contribution Report. Our asset manager NN Investment Partners published its Responsible Investing Report 2021.
