The report reinforces the company’s commitments to transparency, with its stakeholders, and to conducting its business with integrity and sustainability. It aims to provide accountability in an objective way.

The report was prepared according to guidelines established by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the UN Global Compact and the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI). These guidelines have also been incorporated in the company’s strategy and daily activities. In addition the report includes VC’s Consolidated Financial Statements and an Assurance Statement from an independent third party.

Votorantim Cimentos is a privately held, 100% Brazilian-owned company. It is one of the top ten cement producers in the world and a leading company in the cement sector in Brazil. The company has been in business since 1936 and holds a prominent position among the business divisions of the holding company, Votorantim Industrial (VID).

VC has plants in virtually all of the Brazilian States, and also operates overseas in Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, China, India, Morocco, Peru, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay and the USA. The company's head office is located in the city of São Paulo.
