Examples of CSX’s 2012 progress include:
- Achieving the best personal injury rate in the company’s history.
- Committing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 6 to 8 percent by 2020.
- Acting “Beyond Our Rails” and providing more than $14 million in community investments and more than 26,000 volunteer hours.
- Hiring approximately 2,400 employees, 26 percent of whom are military veterans.
- Making capital investments of $2.3 billion, including investments related to public-private partnerships, in the CSX network to continue delivering excellent customer service.
