Sky signals its new approach to sustainability reporting

This year Sky has changed its approach to sustainability reporting, enabling stakeholders to find information in a range of ways.

There’s no longer a microsite, with the website, sky.com/thebiggerpicture now the central point for communicating all Sky’s work. It will be frequently updated, using video, blogs, news and Twitter to help tell the story of what Sky does.

Sky’s Summary Bigger Picture Report 2012 gives an overview of Sky’s approach to sustainability along with progress against its key performance measures from July 2011 to June 2012. Those who want in-depth information and detail about Sky’s performance against its targets can find this on the Reporting section of their website which will be updated on an annual basis.

Highlights to read more about include

• being identified as one of 11 leading global companies in the Publishing Media sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2011
• achieving their carbon reduction target, with emissions falling by 31% per £million turnover against the 2008/09 baseline
• further progress to the target of 1 million more people cycling by 2013, with almost 700,000 people inspired to get on their bikes through Sky’s work with British Cycling.
