The Co-operative, one of the world’s largest consumer co-operatives, has launched its latest ‘warts and all’ Sustainability Report at www.co-operative.coop/sustainabilityreport
An independent introduction to this Report, in the form of a new VideoReportAlert, can be viewed below:
In addition, a video with more detail about The Co-operative’s reporting is available for the first time on its website www.co-operative.coop/sustainabilityreport, where stakeholder feedback is also invited.
The Report is consistent with the latest GRI G3.1 guidelines, and is GRI checked to the highest application level of A+. The Report outlines every instance of finance declined on ethical grounds throughout the year and the business’ work to influence public policy and campaign on social and environmental issues. The Co-operative believes this is its most comprehensive report to date, featuring activity that ranges from pioneering schemes to provide bank accounts for prisoners and inspire young people in the UK, through to progress on actions for improvement in its Food supply chain in the developing world.
Independent assurance is undertaken by Two Tomorrows, using AA1000AS, with the previous Report earning a Corporate Register Reporting Award for ‘Credibility through Assurance’.
