HP releases tenth annual Global Citizenship Report

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 3, 2011 - HP has issued its tenth annual Global Citizenship Report, describing the company’s citizenship policies, programs, performance, and goals for 2010. The comprehensive web-based report is available at www.hp.com/go/globalcitizenship.

Among the focus areas are environmental sustainability, human rights, supply chain responsibility, social innovation, privacy, and ethics and compliance.

Accomplishments include:

Achieved several environmental milestones, including helping customers save 1.4 billion kWh of electricity from 2008 through 2010 using high-volume HP desktop and notebook PCs
Reached nearly 20,000 workers at seven supplier facilities in China with a campaign designed to combat discrimination against workers with the hepatitis B virus
Deployed an internal, dynamic, context-based tool - the HP Privacy Advisor - to guide employees through a privacy impact assessment and risk-management process
Launched HP Catalyst Initiative, a global network of education leaders exploring new approaches to science, technology, engineering, and math education
Collaborated with organizations including the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Mothers2Mothers to help enhance healthcare through innovative uses of technology
