BG Group, a leading natural gas company, has published its 2010 Sustainability Performance Report, now available online at www.bg-group.com/sustainability10/. The Report has been independently assured by PricewaterhouseCoopers, and meets the requirements of the GRI A+ reporting level.
The 2010 Sustainability Report is an online-only report, reflecting both growing good practice and a desire to reduce environmental and cost impacts. Responding to stakeholder feedback, the Report focuses concisely on performance in the year, with a separate section covering the Group’s management approach.
An overview of the 2010 Performance Report:
8% (600 000 tonnes) decrease in absolute carbon dioxide equivalent emissions from operations under BG Group’s control;
Since 2007, 769 000 tonnes of sustainable greenhouse gas reductions have been achieved towards the 2012 target of one million tonnes of sustainable reductions;
IFC-based Social Performance Standard implemented across the Group’s operated businesses;
Focus on major hazard awareness; and
Strategic water management plan developed.
