Announcing Landcom’s 2010 Annual Report

Landcom’s 2009/2010 Annual Report provides a summary of the corporation’s sustainability performance and achievements over the year. The report is available to view online or download at www.landcom.com.au/AnnualReport2010.

During the year, Landcom delivered 1,885 dwellings to the market and generated over $765 million in economic output from its development activities. The corporation delivered $53.1 million in earnings before interest and tax, and returned $64.4 million to the Government in the form of dividend and tax equivalent payments.

Sustainability remains vital to Landcom’s operations and this year the organisation worked diligently to integrate its second generation of sustainability indicators fully into the business.  This report represents the achievement of two important milestones for Landcom. This is the first year of reporting against Landcom's revised sustainability indicators, which were foreshadowed in 2009 following an extensive review over the previous 18 months, and for the first time, Landcom’s Sustainability Report has achieved a GRI A+ reporting standard.

This year, Landcom was nominated by the Global Reporting Initiative as one of only 10 industry participants worldwide to work on the development of a sustainability reporting framework for the property industry (the Construction and Real Estate Sector Supplement). Landcom also launched its sustainability diagnostic tool PRECINXTM, a modelling tool capable of assessing sustainability impacts across entire neighbourhoods.

Landcom’s achievements are a reflection of the close working relationships that have been fostered across Government and the development industry.  Landcom is proud of its achievements and it is with great pleasure that Landcom announces this report.

Landcom is the NSW Government-owned masterplanner and land developer. The corporation has been reporting its sustainability performance since 2002.
