Report Highlights

Network Rail, Britain’s railway infrastructure manager, has published its 2010 Corporate Responsibility report and for the first time it is fully online. The 2010 report covers the exploits over the past year and how the company has performed against targets set over previous years.

The report includes an introduction to how Network Rail manages corporate responsibility and how it is committed to being a responsible business.

The main body of the report covers how the company is handling corporate responsibility across five key themes of ‘our workplace’, ‘our stations and passengers’, ‘our communities’, ‘sustainable supply chain’ and ‘the environment’. It also includes a full report card of progress against the targets set out in last year’s report along with some priorities for the future.

Network Rail have become a gold rated company in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index for the first time this year and this report goes some way to demonstrating the company’s credentials.

All content has been externally assured by Bureau Veritas for accuracy and reliability.

The network covers around 22,000 track miles and the surrounding land and property makes Network Rail the largest landowner in the UK.
