“We can all be wealthy”, Vancouver City Savings Credit Union’s (Vancity’s) 2008-2009 Accountability Report, integrates its financial, environmental and social results together. The report is available at https://www.vancity.com/accountability09

Vancity is challenging itself to see beyond commonly held views of wealth: seeking to redefine wealth in a way that goes beyond profit alone to include social justice, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.

To provide a complete picture of its performance, the business review is structured around Vancity’s business strategy and the report includes summarized consolidated financial statements as well as full consolidated non-financial statements.
It includes status updates on previously set targets and commitments and sets new ones, along with which executive is accountable for each.
The report meets the Global Reporting Initiative voluntary report content standard, level A+, was externally assured using the AA1000 Assurance Standard, and has an external stakeholder panel’s feedback and Vancity’s responses.
The full report is supplemented by several appendices, including Disclosure on Management Approach, Vancity’s Reporting Process and History, and Materiality and Stakeholder Engagement.
