The Siemens Sustainability Report 2009 makes it clear: For Siemens, sustainability is the path to profitable growth and long-term value creation. To achieve these goals, the company is intensifying its efforts in various areas: innovation, customers, portfolio, compliance, industrial environmental protection, product responsibility, occupational health and safety management, personnel management, the commitment of suppliers to Siemens’ own high standards, and corporate citizenship. In short, sustainability is a wide-ranging topic that concerns everyone in the company.

The new Sustainability Report 2009, which is also available in a comprehensive downloadable PDF version, provides a wealth of information about every aspect of sustainability at Siemens, describing Siemens’ strategy, organization, initiatives and goals. It not only continues and supplements last year’s Sustainability Report, but also serves as the annual progress report on implementing the United Nations Global Compact’s ten principles. The Report is oriented to the recommendations of the Global Compact and Transparency International regarding anticorruption reporting.
