Summary

The report covers the corporate governance, environmental, social and economic performance of the company in 2009

Report Highlights

PSA Peugeot Citroën has published its 2009 sustainable development reporting comprising the Annual Report and the "Sustainable Development Performance Indicators" document. They can both be downloaded as a PDF at www.sustainability.psa-peugeot-citroen.com/analysts.htm

Complementary to the Annual Report, the Performance Indicators document covers the corporate governance, environmental, social and economic performance of PSA Peugeot Citroën companies in 2009. Since 2004, PSA Peugeot Citroën has also published its reporting on a dedicated website: www.sustainability.psa-peugeot-citroen.com.

2009 results highlighted in the documents:
Sales of nearly one million vehicles emitting less than 130 g/km of CO2.
Average emissions in Europe of 135.8 g/km of CO2.
7 vehicles with the maximum five-star rating in the new Euro NCAP tests, made more stringent in 2009.
Launch of the Mu by Peugeot mobility services offering.
Signature of two major international initiatives, “Caring for Climate” and “Copenhagen Communiqué on Climate Change”.
Assessment of the first 3 years of application of the Group’s global framework agreement on social responsibility, showing that 87% of the subsidiaries fully apply the agreement’s commitments.

The Group’s 2009 reporting was marked by two major advances:
for the first time, PricewaterhouseCoopers verified the data of a selection of social and environmental indicators (lost-time accidents, CO2 and VOC emissions, water consumption, etc.) at a moderate insurance level, in addition to the processes for compiling social and environmental indicators.
GRI A+ rating. This rating, the result of a self-assessment, was checked by the GRI for the first time this year.

PSA Peugeot Citroën is a European automobile manufacturer supported by two broadline brands: Peugeot and Citroën. In 2009, the Group sold 3.188 million vehicles in 160 countries and employed 186,200 people worldwide.
