Repsol YPF has published its 2009 Corporate Responsibility Report, available here.
The aim of this report is to publicly display the actions and initiatives implemented in the Repsol YPF group to improve performance in the ethical, environmental and social fields. The Report has been verified by an external, independent entity, Deloitte, and meets the GRI requirements with an application level of A+.
This publication details the position, strategy and performance of Repsol YPF in the matters most relevant to the oil and gas sector: climate change, ethics and transparency, human rights, safety, environmental impact management and biodiversity protection.
All of these subjects and important achievements are mentioned in the report, of which the following are particularly noteworthy:
New Strategy on Carbon and New Energy Sources
New Regulation for Action in Indigenous Community Relations.
The frequency rate of accidents with leave dropped by 22% in comparison with the previous year.
The volume of hydrocarbons spilled was reduced by 11%.
The number of employees with disabilities increased by 29% compared with the previous year.
Approximately 2% of the net profits was assigned to social investment.
84.4% of Repsol YPF purchases and contracts were local.
In producing this report, the involvement of the various stakeholders was also included, and their recommendations taken into account.
