Aviva plc has published its Corporate Responsibility (CR) Report covering progress and performance in 2009. The Corporate Responsibility Report 2009 is available at: www.aviva.com/2009cr

Milestones include:
A commitment to put the CR Report to a separate shareholder vote at the 2010 AGM. Aviva is the first company in the UK and the first financial institution in the world to do this.
Reducing carbon emissions across its global business by a further 5.2% this year, on a like-for-like basis, and establishing a long-term target to reduce emissions by 30% by 2020 from a 2006 baseline.
Being recognised in leading indices such as the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (in which Aviva was ranked third among the FTSE financial service sector).
Launching Aviva Street to School, a five-year global community programme to get children off the streets and into education and training.

Aviva has extended its reporting of key metrics using the Accounting for Sustainability connected reporting framework, and published more in-depth information on its CR programme in the UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, North America and at Aviva Investors. For the first time, Aviva’s report is published wholly online and readers have the facility to create and download their own customised report package as required.
