As a producer of clean energy with a rich history of bringing clean energy projects and premium carbon abatement products and services to customers across the globe, Pacific Hydro has long understood and embodied what it is to be a sustainable business, one which powers a cleaner world. Therefore, the decision to publicly report on its sustainability performance was a natural, logical and necessary next step.

The report covers Pacific Hydro’s sustainability performance for the financial year ending 30 June 2009.

Highlights of the report include:

Pacific Hydro’s Response to Climate Change – details advocacy work, opportunities, greenhouse gas emissions and energy.
Powering Sustainable Communities – describes consultation work, the Sustainable Communities Fund and other sponsorship and cultural activities.
Powering Pacific Hydro’s People – details workplace composition, employee engagement activities and health and safety performance.
Powering a Cleaner Environment – includes information on risks and monitoring programs.
Pacific Hydro chose to use the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Guidelines and meets the requirements of the “B’ application level.
