The Westpac Group’s first combined Annual Review and Sustainability Report, ‘Customer brandwidth’ is now online.

The report reflects the work to embed sustainability thinking more broadly into the business. The combined report demonstrates the integration of sustainability into strategy and operations. Highlights include:

Progress on the merger with St.George Bank and multiple brand strategy
The inclusion of sustainability criteria into major project funding decisions and product development processes
The support for customers experiencing financial hardship following the financial crisis
The work to help customers’ transition to a low carbon economy
Progress on the five-year sustainability strategy and, for the first time, long-term targets for each of the sustainability focus areas
Podcasts with independent expert views on major sustainability issues
Downloadable files with all the facts and figures on performance.

The report includes information across all the brands in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

The Westpac Group continues to use the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 framework and Financial Sector Supplement as our guiding framework. As in previous years, both the report and Group’s underlying policies, systems and processes have been independently tested applying the AA1000 Assurance Standard.

Westpac was founded in 1817 and was the first company and the first bank established in Australia. Westpac is one of the major banking and financial services organisation throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region, providing a broad range of banking and financial services in these markets. BT Financial Group has been helping Australians create and manage wealth since 1969 and has been part of the Westpac Group since 2002. Westpac merged with the St.George Bank in December 2008.
