Coca-Cola Hellenic has published its 2008 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, noting progress in key focus areas across its 28 countries of operation.

Some highlights in 2008:

Water Stewardship: improvement of water efficiency by 4% reaching an absolute reduction of 1% for the first time, despite the overall increase in production volume. Extended watershed protection programmes in almost all of Coca-Cola Hellenic’s countries.
Energy & Climate Protection: construction began on the first of 15 combined heat and power (CHP) units that will help to reduce carbon emissions from total manufacturing by 20%.
Packaging & Recycling: increased the amount of recycled PET used in new bottles by 67%. 13 million tonnes of packaging material were collected through the co-owned by Coca-Cola Hellenic national recovery organizations by meeting all applicable recycling targets in the EU Member States in which the Company operates.
Consumer health: introduction of 200 new beverages. The average calorie content of products reduced by 19% since 2001. GDA labeling displayed on all soft drinks in EU countries.
Employee Development: Safe & Eco-driving courses extended to all countries. Among the top 3 preferred employers in Serbia, Italy and Hungary.
Community Involvement: €11 million worth of contribution to community projects.
