Bradesco (NYSE:BBD) published the 2008 edition of its Sustainability Report at http://www.bradescorsa.com.br/Conteudo_eng/. This report presents the essence of the organization’s sustainability culture and information on the initiatives developed in the  social, economic and environmental scopes.

For the third consecutive year, the report follows the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Bradesco’s report was ranked as level A+ according to these guidelines.

This year’s report is divided into three pillars: sustainable finance, responsible management and socio-environmental Investments, which include issues related to the organization’s sustainability strategy and its main initiatives related to its main stakeholders: employees, clients, stockholders, investors, suppliers, NGOs, communities and the government.

In order to identify these issues, Bradesco organized the 1st Bradesco Cycle of Dialogue with Stakeholders, which listed the issues to be included in the report.

The information in the report was audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers Independent Auditors. In addition, a Statement of Assurance was conferred by BSD Consulting Brasil, which verified whether the report was in accordance with the main demands of strategic stakeholders.

Bradesco is one of the largest private banks in Brazil and also the largest insurance company in Latin America, with total assets of R$ R$ 482.141 billion. Its market capitalization reached R$ 65.154 billion and it posted a return on average shareholders’ equity of 21% in 1Q09. Bradesco is listed on the São Paulo, New York and Madrid stocks exchanges. In 66 years of history, Bradesco has become internationally acknowledged for its solidity and tradition of service excellence. Bradesco has been listed on the stock exchange since 1946, and since then has always sought to create value for all stakeholders, investing regularly in technological and administrative modernization and constantly seeking new business opportunities, while always maintaining ethical conduct and respect for all citizens and the environment.
