The report outlines the progress and challenges faced in 2008 and key issues, including Aviva’s approach to managing climate change, the group’s move to a unified brand, and the current financial markets. Building Public Trust Award for transparent reporting of directors’ remuneration
Good Companies Guide – ranked 9th out of top FTSE350 companies by the Observer
Published industry-leading research on consumer attitudes to saving
Maintained carbon neutral status – Aviva was the first insurance company to be carbon neutral across its worldwide operations
Met carbon reduction target – CO₂ emissions down by 6.6% on like-for-like basis compared to 2007
Increased employee participation in Global Climate Survey. 72% of employees think Aviva is a great place to work
£9.6 million invested in communities and employee volunteering nearly doubled in two years to 67,700 hours.
