The report outlines how BBVA is working towards a better future for people:

The BBVA Microfinance Foundation has granted microloans to 346,758 customers amounting to $287m
The Niños Adelante scheme has awarded scholarships to 47,104 children in Latin America in 2008
BBVA fosters Socially Responsible Investment (SRI), being the first Spanish bank to adhere to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment
BBVA has increased its community investment to €85m, 24% up on 2007 – a 1.70% over net attributable profit
BBVA has pledged to reduce its CO2 emissions by 20% by 2012 through the launch of the Global Eco-efficiency Plan
