The Danske Bank Group has published its 2008 Corporate Responsibility report.

The report focuses on corporate responsibility issues that are material to the Danske Bank Group and its stakeholders.

The 2008 report is organised around the four main areas of the Danske Bank Group’s CR activities: customers, employees, environment and society. This structure allows comparability with the information presented in the previous reports and enables readers to track the Group’s performance on selected issues and target areas.

Each of the four main sections opens with an article that deals in depth with an issue of special concern and consequence to the Group. Each section also contains a status report on selected CR objectives for 2008 and presents new objectives for 2009.

Highlights for 2008 include:

Developed and implemented policy for socially responsible investments (SRI)
Launched financial literacy products and services
Started implementation of climate strategy

Since 2007, the Group’s CR reporting has been organised in accordance with the Sustainability Reporting Guidelines (G3) of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The Guidelines help ensure that the company’s reporting presents its stakeholders with a balanced, complete and comparable description of CR performance. The Guidelines also provide a tool for measuring progress and communicating performance in the context of the Global Compact principles. The GRI index on the company Web site therefore contains cross-references to the relevant principles of the Global Compact.
