With “Connected Life and Work. Bringing people together. Embracing responsibility. Finding solutions.”, Deutsche Telekom presents its first detailed Corporate Responsibility Report (CR Report). The online report, as well as a PDF version for printing, is available at www.telekom.com/cr-report2008

Deutsche Telekom’s CR Report is based on a tradition spanning 10 years of corporate reporting focused on sustainability-relevant areas. By awarding the highest Application Level of A+ in 2008, the Global Reporting Initiative GRI has acknowledged Deutsche Telekom’s exacting adherence to the initiative’s requirements of open and transparent reporting.

“Connected Life and Work. Bringing people together. Embracing responsibility. Finding solutions.” represents Deutsche Telekom’s CR Governance structures and states the CR activities the Group has been pursuing during the reporting period in the corresponding areas of action, viz. customer, ecology, suppliers, human resources and society. Spotlight topics highlight particularly challenging contents, for instance, data privacy, environmental protection and diversity. The progress report of Deutsche Telekom as part of the United Nations Global Compact, of which Deutsche Telekom has been a member since 2000, has been integrated into the CR Report.

In the 2008 reporting period, Deutsche Telekom has given its CR strategy a new direction by specially highlighting three CR fields of activity. In future, the Group will intensify its commitment towards environmental protection (“low carbon society”), bringing about equal opportunity in our information society (“connect the unconnected”), and providing upgraded network services for private life and work (“connected life and work”).
