Diageo's activities around the world bring pleasure to consumers and opportunities to employees and business partners. An example highlighted in the report is Diageo's encouragement of local grain cultivation in Africa, the most recent instance of which, in Cameroon, was showcased by the UK government this year as part of its Business Call to Action.

Diageo prepared the report by applying the G3 guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative, with the aim of painting a compelling picture of the company as a good corporate citizen.

Diageo was formed more than a decade ago through the merger of Grand Metropolitan and Guinness. The company acquired additional spirits and wine brands from Seagram and added others by both acquisition and innovation. Today, Diageo is the proud champion of eight of the world's top 20 premium spirits and offers a broad selection of great spirits, wine and beer brands.
