Highlights from 2007 included being named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the seventh year and taking steps to enhance process safety management across the company. Nexen also made progress in the environmental arena by preparing for new and proposed regulatory frameworks around greenhouse gas emissions and seeing positive operating results from their first wind power project.
Nexen's 2007 Sustainability Report provides expanded commentary around major performance indicators. Nexen reported against the Global Reporting Initiative’s G3 guidelines and had selected quantitative information verified by Pricewaterhouse Coopers. For the fifth consecutive year, Nexen enlisted an external stakeholder advisory group to provide guidance and feedback on the report’s content.
