Prudential plc has today published 'Acting Responsibly', its corporate responsibility report for 2007/8. www.prudential.co.uk/prudential-plc/cr/library/.

'Acting Responsibly' is Prudential's sixth annual corporate responsibility report and covers its four directly managed businesses. The report demonstrates how Prudential is managing and responding to some of the key social and environmental challenges currently facing society and particularly, the international financial services community.

During the past year, there have been some exciting developments in Prudential's work:

Prudential continues to invest in the communities where it operates. In 2007, that support amounted to £4.9million;
In the UK Prudential's financial capability programme is being delivered in partnership with Citizens Advice, the Personal Finance Education Group, Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and National Institute of Adult Continuing Education;
In Asia, Prudential's financial literacy programme 'Investing in your Future' has seen over 14,400 women graduate from the programme;
In the US, Jackson and Prudential are supporting Junior Achievement and the National Endowment for Financial Education's 'High School Financial Planning Programme';
The international volunteering programme, The Chairman's Award,  saw over 2000 employees, volunteer 7,400 hours, with over 50 projects around the world;
Prudential became one of 38 companies from the financial services sector to endorse the ClimateWise principles. The principles have been developed by leading global insurers, reinsurers, brokers and asset managers to promote positive action on climate change;
PRUPIM (Prudential Property Investment Management) published ‘Sustainable Development - a framework for decision making’, to actively encourage and promote sustainable practices.
