The publication of Aviva's 2008 report marks the tenth year of publication and demonstrates a long term commitment to CSR. Andrew Moss, group chief executive states, 'For us CSR involves the responsible management of our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers and shareholders. It also means managing the impact Aviva has upon society and the environment. Adherence to CSR principles is an essential part of Aviva’s long-term success.'

Key 2007 highlights include:

First insurance company to be carbon neutral across worldwide operations on 2006 emissions. Existing businesses reduced emissions by 10.8%.
Customer initiatives, including the ‘Make Sense of It’ and ‘Six-Steps’ websites, continue to help customers make better-informed financial decisions.  Six-Steps website awarded Best Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, 2007 IFS Financial Innovation Awards.
‘Best in Class’ recognition by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP5) and “Bronze Class” distinction from the SAM Sustainability Yearbook.
Global Diversity and Innovation Award by the World Diversity Leadership Council, under the auspices of the United Nations Global Compact.
Only UK-listed insurer to be included in both the Dow Jones Sustainability World and STOXX Indexes. Continue to be included in the FTSE4Good Index Series.
Awarded a bronze-class distinction by SAM (Sustainable Asset Management).
Global Employee Climate Survey revealed 70% of employees think Aviva is a great place to work.
Responsible investments: Aviva’s market-leading SRI funds currently invest £1.2 billion in ethically and environmentally sound businesses.
