Bradford & Bingley has published its latest Corporate Social Responsibility Report, detailing its activities for 2007. Available online at: www.bbg.co.uk/bbg/csr/

Bradford & Bingley has made great strides in developing its CSR programme since inception in 2001, and last year was again named as one of the Sunday Times Companies That Count through the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index.

Bradford & Bingley is ranked as a Platinum company in the Corporate Responsibility Index and in the Business in the Community Environment Index.

The company continues to focus on programmes working with the homeless, and has launched a ground breaking programme in Bradford in association with Business Action on Homelessness.

Whilst Business Action on Homelessness has been helping people back into employment for the last ten years, their work in individual cities has been led by the charity itself, working in partnership with companies.

In Bradford however, the programme is being led by Bradford & Bingley. They have employed a full time Business Action on Homelessness Manager, and they are already working with many companies and homelessness agencies across the city.

Employee involvement continues to increase across the company, with employees acting as job coaches and mentors for the Business Action on Homelessness scheme as well as raising funds for local charities through the company’s matched fundraising scheme.

On the environment front, Bradford & Bingley continues to not only be a CarbonNeutral company, but is leading the way in cutting carbon emissions, with an over 70% reduction over the last two years. The company now has a carbon footprint of less than 0.5 tonne of CO2 per employee per year.
