Outokumpu has published its 2007 corporate responsibility report “Outokumpu and the Environment 2007”. A pdf-version can be found on the company’s web site www.outokumpu.com/crr2007 and printed copies ordered by email: corporate.comms@outokumpu.com.

Last year’s report theme was ‘listening to stakeholders’. Now the company has gone one step further: the ideas that emerged from the interaction have led the company to take measures, focusing on putting ideas into practice. “From words into actions - from ideas to realization”.

The 2007 report surveys Outokumpu’s business operations: performance and achievements supported by case stories across the full scope of corporate responsibility - environmental, economic and social. Outokumpu maintained membership in the Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Index, was accepted into Dow Jones World Index and the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index, and was recognized as SAM Sector Mover. To highlight the importance of responsibility, Outokumpu named 2008 the ‘year of corporate responsibility’ with concrete, measurable targets for every employee to do their part.

Statistics in the company’s reports for 2005, 2006 and 2007 are comparable despite huge Group structural changes. Reporting focuses on the stainless steel business.

The report is based on Global Reporting Initiative guidelines, and for the first time is externally verified. To complement the printed report Outokumpu’s web pages are being further developed.
