Philips' 10th report provides further details on social, environmental and economic performance as well as featuring special sections on energy efficiency and healthcare
Royal Philips Electronics (AMS:PHIL, NYSE:PHG) announced today that it achieved a 33% increase in sales of Green Products in 2007, as published in the company’s 10th independently verified annual report on sustainability. Total Green Product sales resulted in EUR 5.3 billion in 2007, compared with EUR 4 billion in 2006.
Philips’ 10th report provides further details on social, environmental and economic performance as well as featuring special sections on energy efficiency and healthcare. The report further focuses on Philips’ long term commitments to energy efficiency, its Green Product portfolio and green innovations.
In September 2007, Philips announced its EcoVision4 program aiming to double sales of Green Products to 30% of total revenues within five years. Philips is well on its way to achieving this target, with Green Product sales accounting for 20% of total Philips sales in 2007, compared with15% in 2006. Other targets in EcoVision4 included making the company itself 25% more energy efficient as well as investing EUR 1 billion in Green Innovation by 2012.
