ANZ’s 2007 Corporate Responsibility (CR) results have been released in its third CR Report –'What’s the difference?'
The report includes case studies on material issues ANZ is managing, together with details of initiatives and achievements which led to ANZ being named Global Sector Leader for banking in the 2007 Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
Results include:
Customers: Continuing to lead the major Australian banks with retail customer satisfaction at 77.2% (Roy Morgan Research)
Introducing new consumer fee policies to reduce credit card exception fees for low income earners, help customers avoid fees and improve communication about product terms and conditions
Implementing the Equator Principles, including comprehensive reporting on 2007 projects
People: Improving employee engagement from 60 to 64%, higher than the Australasian financial services benchmark of 58% (Hewitt Associates 2007)
Researching and piloting new flexible work options to help create a more inclusive workplace and improve work-life balance
Community: Extending the reach of financial literacy and inclusion programs with more than 20,000 low-income people participating in financial education program, MoneyMinded
Setting significant Indigenous employment targets and a focus on improving financial literacy and inclusion for Indigenous Australians
Environment: Establishing new two-year commitments to improve environmental performance
Commencing construction of a new environmentally friendly office building at Docklands in Melbourne, Australia
