At P&G, environmental sustainability is embedded in how we do business. P&G is committed to positively impacting our homes, our communities and our planet. We continue to reduce our footprint and strive for more circular approaches in our supply chain. We’re building partnerships with external organizations to combat some of the most challenging and complex issues we currently face. Our employees are committed to ensuring that sustainability is built in — not bolted on — to their everyday work.

Last year, P&G launched its initiative, It’s Our Home, to help make sustainable choices easier for the 5 billion consumers we serve every day. Since then, we have also made progress against our Ambition 2030 goals:

  • We have reduced our own footprint by 97% of the electricity we purchase being renewable, and we are on track to cut our emissions in half by 2030 in our operations.
  • We announced our ambition to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions from our operations and supply chain by 2040, with interim 2030 goals to make meaningful progress this decade.
  • We have made progress in packaging as 73% of our primary packaging is now recyclable, which is 18% better than a year ago.

We have also inspired consumers to reduce their own footprint with innovations in plastic packaging by Gillette and Venus, as well as low-energy laundry cycles that have helped prevent 50 million metric tons of carbon dioxide and a goal to avoid more than 30 million more metric tons of carbon dioxide by 2030. And we have enabled consumers to reduce their water footprint with innovations like Dawn Powerwash, which creates suds without the use of the faucet until the final rinse.

While we have made progress, we know there is more to do. We will continue to leverage existing solutions, innovate the solutions of tomorrow and forge transformative partnerships to bring a more sustainable future to life now, and for generations to come.
