FISHERS, Ind., March 17, 2022 /CSRwire/ - Land Betterment Corporation (“Land Betterment” or the “Company”), an environmental solutions company fostering positive impact through upcycling former coal mining and industrial sites to create sustainable community development and job creation, announced that their ekō Villages of Hope, which provides fully-furnished and operational container-based ekō homes to areas affected by natural disasters and other communities of need, continues to expanded its impact through its private sponsorship model and its associated corporate donations.

Through its flexible sponsorship model, Land Betterment has received a growing number of charitable donations to help provide free-of-cost ekō homes to displaced victims for a 1-2 year period. After the first 4 ekō homes were donated by Land Betterment Corporation, to date, they have received donations to provide an additional 16 homes to families in need, including one, highlighted by WBTV, from Carolina Panther owner and renowned investor David Tepper and his wife.

Following a natural disaster, like the one that hit western Kentucky with devastating tornados in December 2021, housing is often the most complex and longest lead-time resource to procure, and essential for communities to rebuild. Veteran reporter Steve Crump highlights that now, 3 months after the tornados hit, much of the immediate relief efforts, network TV and social media awareness, news conferences and connections to relief agencies are no longer present and local residences are left fending for themselves.

ekō Villages of Hope is the leading example of real partnerships to bring efficient solutions to communities in need. Martha Woolsey, a resident of Dawson Springs, Kentucky is on the receiving end of one of the ekō homes and commented, “Pretty much everybody here is below the poverty level, and that goes back into the housing thing,” she said. “There’s no rental property. There’s nowhere for people to go.”

Through the partnership with Community Foundation of West Kentucky, corporations and charities both can sponsor homes for families needing a safe home to rebuild their lives.
