Crystal K. Waters
As a lithium-ion battery researcher, Crystal K. Waters’ goal is to understand the chemistries that lead to safe, longer-lasting batteries for energy storage applications. She is one of very few Black female PhDs in this space. Crystal shared advice for future chemistry scholars who will innovate solutions for a more sustainable future.

Chloe Barrow
The future of engineering is promising because of people like 2020 Chemours’ Future of Chemistry Scholarship recipient Chloe Barrow. She is pursuing a mechanical engineering degree at North Carolina A&T University and joined us as a summer intern at our Chambers Works site.
