June is Pride Month for the LGBTQ Community and allies alike. And it’s a great time to celebrate The Hershey Company’s deep commitment to diversity and inclusion and our support of LGBTQ employees who make our company a great place to work.
We should all take pride in the fact that at Hershey, we recognize that the diversity of our workforce is a source of strength, innovation and fresh thinking. It makes us stronger and contributes to our success. We believe that the best ideas come from diverse groups of people working together.
That's why it is so important that we hire people from a broad range of backgrounds who want to be part of our culture. We understand that diversity creates energy, enthusiasm and empathy that enables us to better represent and serve the broad consumer population who depends on us to make snacks and treats that they love. Our LGBTQ employees are an important part of this tapestry of amazing people who make Hershey great.
While we embrace all forms of diversity across our company through Business Resource Groups (BRGs) including African Americans, Asian, Latino, women, veterans and people with disabilities, it is our Prism BRG that brings together LGBTQ employees and allies to support our culture of diversity, celebrate our unique qualities and partner with other BRGs to create a total culture and an environment where our people can truly be remarkable.
This amazing Hershey work culture is why for three consecutive years we have been ranked on the DiversityInc Top 50 list for our diversity leadership. And our most recent ranking, just announced a few weeks ago, also acknowledged our leadership in supporting LGBTQ employees.
So join us in celebrating our similarities, our unique differences and all that makes our beautiful Hershey employee tapestry great.
Celebrate with pride.
