It took about a day or two for it to register in Steve Scro’s mind that his restaurant, known for its warm atmosphere and unique dining experience, had to shutter due to the novel coronavirus, but he has chosen to rise to the occasion.

Working in partnership with Pat LaFrieda, a family-run meat purveyor — who has been dubbed “America’s most famous butcher” by several publications — Scro is offering a pop-up butcher shop and a market with essential items in the parking area of his restaurant, located just off Route 517 in Sparta.

Scro has also partnered with Sysco Metro NY to offer a pop-up market filled with everyday necessities, such as fresh and frozen produce, including fruits and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, water, toilet paper and pastas.
