Today, Pact announced that its Board of Directors has selected international development leader Caroline Anstey as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the global organization.

Anstey will join Pact on March 23, 2020. She comes to Pact from her role as Senior Advisor to several prominent organizations, including the World Economic Forum, Inter-American Development Bank and the Results for Development Institute.

As CEO, Anstey will shepherd the organization and industry into the next generation of development. She will lead the continued growth of the organization and its current transformation—an evolution of the organization that is challenging the traditional project-based business model and pushing itself to address power imbalances within the sector that prevent people from owning their futures.

Pact is tackling some of the most challenging issues both programmatically and organizationally. I am honored to join this global team of committed professionals who are working every day to eradicate poverty hand-in-hand with communities, governments, the private sector and donors. I look forward to working together to grow our impact to ensure that the people we serve are fully empowered,” said Anstey.

Prior to her current roles, Anstey served as Group Managing Director at UBS AG in Zurich. She spent nearly two decades at the World Bank, most recently as Managing Director of the World Bank Group where she oversaw operational policy and led an ambitious modernization agenda across the Bank. From 2008-2013 she served as Sherpa to the Intergovernmental G-20 and G-7 Heads of Government meetings. Her expertise spans the public, private and social sectors, as well as strategy, operations, finance, investment, communications, gender equity and relationship management.

We are thrilled to welcome Caroline to Pact. She is deeply devoted to Pacts mission and commitment to placing the people we serve—our shareholders—at the center of everything we do, from governance to programs. Throughout her career, Caroline has demonstrated the leadership and expertise that will enable Pact to have the greatest impact possible for the people we serve, and to lead the organization as it continues to push the boundaries of doing development differently,” said Mark Fitzgerald, Principal at KPMG and Chair of Pacts Board of Directors.

Anstey will lead Pacts global team of more than 6,000 staff implementing over 100 projects in nearly 40 countries.
