Mohawk Group has become one of the first flooring manufacturers to offer a seamless ordering process for samples through Material Bank. Approximately 1,000 Mohawk Group SKUs across hard and soft surface are now available through the platform, including some of the latest featured styles from this summer’s NeoCon showcase in Chicago.

Material Bank simplifies the material sampling process while reducing waste and increasing the quality of service levels. As part of Mohawk Group’s desire to drive better project solutions through best-in-class tools and partnerships, Material Bank represents a strategic partnership that is poised to drive the best customer experience in the commercial flooring industry. The innovative service also aligns with Mohawk Group’s desire to help foster stronger relationships within the design community and meet the needs of a digitized architecture and design landscape.

“We recognize the world is changing and that solutions like Material Bank enable Mohawk Group to better serve our customers in a way that really meets their needs for service, customization and speed,” said Mark Oliver, vice president of workplace and retail at Mohawk Group. “Material Bank is an innovative, solutions-based approach that is focused on exceeding the expectations of our customers. We believe in this partnership and look forward to seeing how it helps us elevate the customer experience for design firms across the globe.”

Material Bank is the world’s largest architectural and design materials resource and is a free service for industry professionals. By combining technology and logistics, Material Bank is the fastest and most powerful way for design professionals to search and sample materials on a single platform. As a more sustainable solution to sampling, Material Bank also includes a reclamation program so that samples can be returned for reuse at no cost to the designer.

“Mohawk and SANDOW have a long-standing relationship, so I was incredibly proud when Mohawk became a Material Bank founding partner,” said Adam Sandow, CEO and founder of Material Bank and SANDOW. “It was evident by their support of our platform that they put a tremendously high value in providing designers with the best possible tools to do their job, in the most efficient way possible. Together, Mohawk and Material Bank will bring much needed efficiency to the design industry.”

Architects and designers using Material Bank can conduct complex searches and place sample orders across hundreds of brands and thousands of materials in seconds from a single source. Using the platform, customers can search by design, color, performance and technical attributes and create palettes across various finishes and brands. Order fulfilment takes place in an 80,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, robotics-powered logistics facility just minutes from the FedEx Express World Hub in Memphis, Tennessee. Design professionals who order samples by midnight EST will receive a single box containing their full sample order by 10:30 a.m. the following morning.

Mohawk Group in partnership with Material Bank helps make the formerly time- and resource-intensive processes around flooring sampling simple, efficient and more sustainable. Samples are shipped together in sustainable packaging, and unused materials can be returned free of charge, ensuring millions of samples will be reused rather than discarded.
