An American company doing business in Israel/Palestine has implemented an agreement reached with a non-profit organization that urges companies to sign a corporate code of conduct.

In December, Holy Land Principles, Inc. agreed to withdraw the Shareholder Resolution it filed for inclusion in Corning’s 2017 proxy statement because Corning agreed to publish a breakdown of its workforce in that area, using "the nine job categories which are utilized in the U.S. Department of Labor’s EEO-1 Report (Equal Employment Opportunity): 1. Officials and managers; 2. Professionals; 3. Technicians; 4. Sales; 5. Office and clerical; 6. Craft Workers (skilled); 7. Operatives (semiskilled); 8. Laborers (unskilled); 9. Service workers.

Corning — the specialty glass, ceramics, and optical physics company based in Corning, NY—  has now published the breakdown, which is given below.

Fr. Sean Mc Manus— President of the Capitol Hill-based Holy Land Principles, Inc. and Irish National Caucus—said : “We are pleased Corning has kept its word. We feel very strongly that all 543 companies doing business in the Holy Land should publish such a breakdown of their workforce. When all is said and done, without such information the American public, investors and other stakeholders are not in a position to know how American companies are performing, according to American fair employment  standards.”

“Pursuant to an agreement with shareholder Holy Land Principles, the following is a breakdown of the workforce of Corning’s subsidiary MobilAccess, Inc. in Israel-Palestine:

Executive/Senior Level Officials and Managers Non-Arab: 2 Arab: 0, First/Mid-Level Officials and managers Non-Arab: 39 Arab: 0, Professionals Non-Arab: 66 Arab: 0,
Technicians Non-Arab: 2 Arab: 0,
Sales Workers Non-Arab:1 Arab: 0,
Administrative Support Workers Non-Arab:1 Arab:0,
Craftworkers Non-Arab: 0 Arab:0,
Operatives Non-Arab: 0 Arab: 0,
Laborers and Helpers Non-Arab: 0 Arab: 0,
Service Workers Non-Arab:0 Arab: 0.
The absence of Arab employees is due largely to MobileAccess Inc.'s size, geographic location, and specialized workforce.
