Points of Light and A Billion + Change honored CSRwire for being a major player in reporting the latest news and reports in CSR and serving as an influential megaphone through its innovative Twitter chats and independent commentary.

At the 2014 Conference on Volunteering and Service, Points of Light and A Billion + Change honored CSRwire for being a major player in reporting the latest news and reports in corporate social responsibility, and for serving as an influential megaphone through its innovative Twitter chats and independent commentary about the inspiring work of A Billion + Change pledge companies.

Noting that "CSRwire continues to pave the way for new standards of corporate service, earning the respect of thought leaders, business leaders, the media and A Billion + Change," the All-Star Award from A Billion + Change was presented to CSRwire CEO Joe Sibila by NFL New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

The Super Bowl MVP represents the Super Service Challenge, a new Billion + Change partner.

"I'm honored to accept this award on behalf of my team at CSRwire. As our members' missions, values and integration between corporate responsibility and business strategy mature, so do our efforts to partner with them to communicate and engage our stakeholders. With the advent of social media, finding the right partner is key for any communication strategy – and we're honored to be a proud partner of the Points of Light and A Billion + Change community," said Sibilia.

“The impact you make by serving the organizations that you serve lets them know that someone cares about them – in many cases people just want to know that someone cares about them and has their best interests at heart,” said Brees.

"When there are lots of channels and media to choose from, an effective communication strategy must distinguish itself by engaging with an audience on issues that matter to them. Through our collaborations, we are facilitating conversations and debates that drive progress, influence thought and encourage action – and our audience is reacting, participating and becoming active change agents themselves. That's how we can shift behavior and have sustainable impact – and we're proud to serve as an active and innovative communication partner for our 8,000+ members," added Aman Singh, Editorial Director, CSRwire.

Thousands of leaders from the nonprofit, corporate and civic sectors convened at the Conference on Volunteering and Service, coming together to celebrate and shape the future of volunteerism. For more on the event, visit www.pointsoflight.org or www.volunteeringandservice.org.
