OneReport® Becomes First US Company to Gain Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Certification

Extends Global Corporate Responsibility Information Management and Reporting Support

OneReport, Inc., a corporate responsibility (CR) information management and reporting services provider, today announced certification by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for the latest GRI guidelines, G4. OneReport became the first US-based software provider to receive certification for G4 content through the GRI Certified Software and Tools Program, and the second globally.

Certification assures organizations that OneReport accurately reflects content from the GRI Reporting Frameworks, which are the most widely used sustainability reporting guidelines worldwide. Reporting organizations can now choose to report based on any of the three accepted GRI frameworks: G3, G3.1 and G4, during the nearly two year transition period.

OneReport, an online information management, planning, reporting and web publishing software platform, helps reporting organizations address the evolving demands for corporate responsibility information. Companies use OneReport to self-publish a GRI content index and a PDF version of their GRI report, publish a UN Global Compact Communication on Progress, respond to information requests from the responsible investment community and other stakeholders, as well as engage and oversee colleagues in these processes. Reporting organizations have the option to focus exclusively on GRI’s Guidelines, although most clients (particularly public companies) use OneReport to leverage information common to other frameworks and research organizations, reducing duplicative work and simplifying the reporting process.

“Having integrated the GRI Guidelines since OneReport’s inception, we are pleased to complete the certification process and continue supporting reporting organizations of all sizes as they plan, manage and report based on the GRI Framework,” said Janice Warren, president of OneReport. “Our mission is to simplify the often overwhelming process of managing information requests from leading investment research and ratings organizations and frameworks. This GRI certification assures clients that they are reporting based on current GRI requirements and accessing the leading metrics that the market demands.”

OneReport is also a GRI Organizational Stakeholder (OS). Organizational Stakeholders support GRI’s mission, contribute their expertise, promote GRI and provide financial support to GRI. OneReport has worked with the GRI for more than ten years.

The Global Reporting Initiative’s Framework provides a process and guide for measuring and reporting on an organization’s economic, environmental, and social performance. The Framework sets out Principles and Indicators that all types of organizations can use in the assessment and reporting process. GRI is committed to continuously improving and increasing the use of its Reporting Guidelines, which are freely available to the public.

"Thousands of organizations worldwide report on their sustainability performance using the GRI Guidelines. Sustainable software solutions and web applications help make this process easier for reporting organizations," said Elina Sviklina, Program Coordinator - Certified Software and Tools at the Global Reporting Initiative. "We are happy to add the G4 to OneReport’s certifications through the G4 GRI Certified Software and Tools Program and we look forward to OneReport’s continued support of GRI reporters."
