ROSEN, a marketing consultancy that specializes in helping clients fulfill socially responsible missions, announced that it is the 30th Oregon company to receive B-Corporation certification.

As a certified “B Corp,” ROSEN joins a global network of companies that commit to using their businesses as leaders in solving social and environmental problems, as well as earn a profit. Certified B-Corps are required to voluntarily meet tough standards of transparency, accountability, and environmental and social performance. To earn the B-Corp certification, ROSEN demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility, along with transparency in its performance.

“We aim to practice what we preach and that level of commitment led us to a B-Corp certification,” said Richard G. Rosen, President and CEO of ROSEN. “We believe that the successful businesses of the future will thrive financially, socially and environmentally, and that they can be a force for good.”

There are 707 certified B-Corporations worldwide, and 12 state legislatures have passed or are considering legislation enabling B-Corporations to become a legal corporate entity (Oregon is considering legislation this session).

ROSEN has also earned the City of Portland’s Sustainability at Work Gold certification, which recognizes businesses who adopt green practices in one the of the cleanest, most sustainable cities in the country. ROSEN demonstrated its commitment by completing forty-six actions related to initiatives such as education, transportation, materials and waste, and energy and water use. Fifty-eight Portland organizations have achieved Sustainability at Work’s Gold certification.
